Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception was declared by Pope Pius IX, December 8, 1854.
December 8 is a special non-working holiday in accordance to Republic Act No. 10966. It was signed on 29 December 2017 to commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the Patroness of the Philippines.
