Two students with leadership potential, Kotaro Jncyrl Velasco, a third year Maritime student and Mark Raven Layco, a second year Hospitality Management student, participated in the 4th Edition of the Virtual International Social Business Summer Program (ISBSP) last July 20-25, 2020.
Due to the threat of COVID-19, this year’s ISBSP was conducted through the use of online platform which was highlighted via series of webinars by notable Social Business Experts with the e-Master Class by Nobel Laureate, Professor Muhammad Yunus. This is to provide concepts and knowledge on how to construct social business plans to help overcome the post COVID-19 challenges. The program was as an active learning platform wherein participants had to create ideas to provide solutions to post COVID-19 Social problems.
Defined as a business that addresses social problems, Social Business has been one of Professor Yunus’ stepping stone to achieve his three zeros in a society which is Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Carbon Emission along with his Grameen Bank and concepts in microcredit and microfinance.
Upon the completion of the Virtual ISBSP 2020, the participants received a certificate along with three academic credits from Daffodil International University.
